Poplin is shirt fabric, embroidered base cloth, dress fabric, jacket, especially suitable for making summer shirts and underwear.
Sateen fabric, also known as satin fabric, is a kind of fabric with more complex weaving process. The warp and weft are interwoven at least three times apart. So the satin weave makes the fabric more dense, so the fabric is thicker. Satin weave products cost more than similar plain weave and twill weave products. The cloth is smooth, fine and glossy.
Sateen fabric warp floats on the surface of the fabric, so the general use of combed yarn, there are very light 60, there are slightly heavy 30, sateen weight is generally 100-200g/m2 of combed fabric. In addition, there are elastic sateen, higher grade, because of its rich luster, and soft, is the most unique product in cotton fabric, so it is high-grade
Poplin and sateen have similarities and differences. Poplin and sateen are thick and thin, and the number is relatively thin. It is impossible to distinguish the two fabrics from the thickness of the fabric. However, poplin is usually thin, while sateen is not necessarily, it can be thicker. Poplin belongs to plain fabric, that is, the warp and weft yarn is interwoven with the law of one up and one down; Sateen is a satin weave, and the warp and weft are interwoven at least once every three threads.
