What is a wrinkle-resistant finish? How is it achieved?

POLYESTER FABRIC (2)Anti-wrinkle finishing, sometimes called anti-wrinkle finishing, mainly through chemical or physicochemical methods, the fiber is treated to improve the ability of the fabric to recover from wrinkles. Improve the ironing ability of the clothing, so that the clothing can be kept flat during wearing, and improve the overall appearance.

Wrinkle-proof finishing method:

Resin finishing: This is the most common anti-wrinkle finishing method, using polymer materials (especially synthetic resins) as finishing agents. Resin finish by adding other components, not only can be wrinkle resistant, but also can achieve shrinkage, waterproof, water repellent, water absorption, soft, antibacterial, antistatic, flame retardant, warm, enhance, easy to wash and change the feel of a variety of functions.

Cross-linking method: Covalent bonds are formed between fiber molecules through chemical cross-linking agents, reducing the relative movement of molecular chains, thereby improving the anti-wrinkle performance of the fabric. For example, the use of dihydroxymethyl melamine (MF) or 2D resin (dihydroxymethyl dihydroxyethylene urea) as finishing agents, these finishing agents under the action of high temperature and catalyst crosslinking reaction with cellulose molecules, forming a stable network structure, limiting the movement of fiber macromolecules, so as to achieve anti-wrinkle effect.

Other chemical methods: In addition to resin finishing, other chemicals can also be used for crosslinking, such as epoxy resins, dihydroxyethyl sulfone, polycarboxylic acids and water-soluble polyurethanes. These finishing agents have achieved certain results in application, but there are some shortcomings.
